Dear Members and Friends.We hope these lines find you all in good health and send you best wishes from South Wales.We might have Brexit … but Deutsch-Britische Gesellschaft Duisburg is still at the heart of Europe!In fact, from Wales – and via video conference – Rob Tonks will be moderating the opening of the Europe Direct office in Duisburg next Tuesday, 11 May 2021, from 18.00 German time.
There will be an address from the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth and discussion about the importance of Duisburg twinning links with Portmouth, Calais, Perm and others. Our very own Barbara Tonks (94J) will also contribute.
There will be dicussion with Members of the European Parliament, and the European Commission about the future of the EU. Also, the work of Europe Direct will be presented, including directly from Paris. Finally, we will have a fun-packed pub quiz for you to join in.

Das EUROPE DIRECT Duisburg-Niederrhein hat sich für die fünfte Generation der Europe Direct Zentren qualifiziert! Das Team von Europe Direct würde dies sehr gerne zum Anlass nehmen und unter dem Motto
„Das Tor zu EUropa“ am 11. Mai, ab 18.00 Uhr
gemeinsam mit Ihnen den Start in die fünfte Saison zu feiern! Dazu haben wir uns ein abwechslungsreiches Programm zwischen Information und Entertainment überlegt.
